The USAII® Global AI Hackathon 2026 was a global virtual student innovation competition designed to make AI learning practical, collaborative, and responsible. Students worked in teams of 2–5, leveraged public or synthetic datasets, and developed AI solutions grounded in real-world challenges rather than abstract case studies.
With dedicated tracks for high school, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral participants, the hackathon delivered a structured and inclusive learning experience across time zones. Recorded core sessions enabled flexible participation, while mentors, judges, and industry speakers guided teams throughout the competition.

USAII's Global AI Hackathon 2026 is exclusive to students only. Full-time students from any degree or doctoral program are also eligible. Working professionals enrolled in any Degree or Doctoral Programs are not eligible to participate in the competition. Should anyone win the competition (in any category) and be discovered as a working professional, the prize and other benefits will be awarded to the next-best team/s.
The USAII® Global AI Hackathon 2026 featured three challenge tracks designed to match participants' academic levels while encouraging them to solve meaningful real-world problems through AI. Each track focused on practical innovation, responsible AI, and measurable impact.
High school teams developed AI-powered solutions to address challenges in their schools, communities, and everyday lives. Projects focused on improving education, sustainability, accessibility, public awareness, and social impact through responsible AI.
Participants explored solutions using no-code, low-code, and coding approaches, demonstrating that impactful AI innovation can begin at any stage of learning.
Undergraduate participants designed AI applications that tackled real-world challenges across productivity, healthcare, education, business, finance, public services, and everyday decision-making.
Teams combined technical knowledge with creativity to develop practical, scalable solutions that addressed current societal and industry needs.
Graduate and doctoral participants developed advanced AI solutions for complex, high-impact challenges involving intelligent systems, responsible AI, governance, cybersecurity, sustainability, healthcare, and public infrastructure.
Projects emphasized technical excellence, innovation, ethical AI development, and the potential for real-world implementation.
